Course Description

Behind Closed Doors: The Alarming Rise of Aggression within Healthcare Settings (Part 1 of 2)

Go to Part 2 of this course HERE

Is it legal to expect health care providers to risk physical violence in the workplace? How can employers create a safe environment for their employees while still providing care to residents in need? This seminar will delve into the various factors that contribute to this dilemma and its implications for healthcare workers in particular. Participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of how inadequate healthcare resources exacerbate the challenges faced by both patients and practitioners.

The Department of Health (DOH) recognizes the increasing incidents of workplace violence and urges management to implement protocols that address this serious issue. It is crucial for employers to take proactive measures such as conducting risk assessments, establishing reporting procedures, and providing training on conflict resolution and de-escalation techniques.
