Today’s Topic:

Healing Foundations: Integrating Ethical Practices in Trauma and Resilience into Clinical Practice

Trauma-informed care is no longer optional in skilled nursing and long-term care settings — it is a leadership and regulatory responsibility.

Description:

This training provides social workers and clinical practitioners with a practical framework for understanding trauma, traumatic stress, and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), with a focus on how trauma affects older adults seeking care. As trauma is highly prevalent across the elder population, ethical and clinical competence in trauma-informed care is essential. Participants will examine key ethical challenges across the helping process, including engagement, assessment, intervention, and termination.
