Fee: $725.00 (Includes the CMA manual, medication passes and study guide)
This course, approved by the NJ Department of Health and Senior Services, meets the criteria to take the state test to be certified as an Assisted Living Facility- Certified Medication Aide.
Course focuses on administering and/ or assisting residents with self-administration of prepared instillations, treatments and insulin injections.
Three required Medication Passes will be offered.
Our course trains you in mastering the concepts and regulatory guidelines required in order to administer medications in Assisted Living communities and related entities in New Jersey.
In order to be eligible to take this course:
- Must be NJ Certified as a Certified Nursing Aide or Certified Homemaker Health Aide
- Have a current criminal background check.
- Must be 21 years of age
- Be in good standing with the Board of Nursing and the NJ DHSS
- Must complete 3 medication passes under the direction of an approved CMA RN or Pharmacist Trainer

- Administering and assisting residents with self-administration or prepared instillations, treatments, and insulin injections.

- Identification of Diabetes Medication
- Direct administration of appropriate medication / nasal/optic/ophthalmic /vaginal/ rectal /inhalation
- Part III
- Medication Administration Practicum
- Part IV
