Course Description
Scams & Scoundrels: the new elder abuse and exploitation risks
Elder abuse is an increasingly important concern for professionals who are responsible for the physical, emotional and financial well-being of the seniors in their care. This course will assist social workers in the following areas:
Objectives:
- Social Worker will demonstrate a Social Worker will demonstrate a broad understanding of elder exploitation via scams
- Social Worker will identify 3 factors of what constitutes elder scams and explain its various forms
- Social Worker will discover 2 techniques to identify abuse
- Social Worker will Social Worker will identify 3 strategies for handling and preventing suspected abuse.
- Social Worker will classify examples of elder abuse in terms of scams and scoundrels; analyze effective strategies for handling the abuse; examine the abuse from different perspectives.
CE Credit Details
This course, Recognizing & Addressing Opioid Misuse in the Elderly, provided by Longtree & Associates, LLC, is pending final approval by NAB for LNHA and CALA.
This course is approved by the California Board of Nursing and is accepted as CE in NJ and most states in the mid-Atlantic area.
