Course Description
Cultural Diversity and resident preferences is an increasingly important concern for professionals who are responsible to enhance their skills in cultural competencies. This course will assist social workers in the following areas:
Course Objectives
1. Social Worker will identify standards of serving seniors based on the values of cultural diversity and cultural awareness and competencies.
2. Social Worker will be able to demonstrate cultural awareness as it relates to identifying appropriate interventions
3. Social Worker will identify use of appropriate cultural context of interviewing and helping skills and describe common missteps.
4. Social workers will assess cultural, environmental, economic, mental or physical ability, linguistic, and other issues that may affect the delivery or use of electronic social work services.
CE Credit Details
This course, Bringing Cultural and Diversity Sensitivities in the Health Care Setting, Approval #200901-459, provided by Longtree & Associates, LLC, is approved for continuing education by the New Jersey Social Work Continuing Education Approval Collaborative, which is administered by NASW-NJ. CE Approval Collaborative Approval Period: February 17, 2020 through August 31, 2022. New Jersey social workers will receive 1 Non-clinical & Social and Cultural Competence CE credits for participating in this course.
This seminar is approved for NJ Nursing 1.0 by the California Board of Nursing.

Your presenter, Laurie Loughney, CSW, LNHA, CALA, CADDCT, SHRM-CP is engaged in assisting staff with ethics and quality care initiatives in the long-term communities, as a consultant and educator. Laurie is a SHRM (Society of Human Resource Management) Certified Specialist.
